No other part of your home requires as much cleaning as your bathroom does. This is because your bathroom gets used regularly and sees lots of dirt and daily water usage.
Cleaning your bathroom regularly makes it safe and good for your usage all round the year without exposing you to infections and diseases. Incidentally, some people do not know how best to clean and care for their bathrooms.
In this post, we will look at certain bathroom cleaning steps and tips you can employ to keep your bathroom sparkling at all times. Here are some bathroom cleaning tips and tricks you can follow to clean your bathroom:
1. Get the Right Bathroom Cleaning Products and Supplies
If you want to enjoy the cleanest bathroom always, you have to make sure you have the best cleaning products and supplies at your disposal. Here are a few cleaning products you will need for cleaning your bathroom: all-purpose cleaner, a glass cleaner, vinegar, baking soda, acid-based cleaners for your tiles and grout, a double-sided bucket, toilet brushes, grout brush, broom and vacuum, hand gloves, extendable duster, and microfiber.
2. Have a Checklist for Cleaning your Bathroom
You must create a checklist of all the parts of your bathroom that should be cleaned. Bathrooms can vary in their features and set up, but every bathroom cleaning checklist should include the following general features of every bathroom: showerhead and bathtub, shower doors and handles, bathroom counter, bathroom sink, the interior and exterior of your toilet, mirror, light fixtures and vents, trash can, floors, and grouts. 3. Clean all Glass Shower Doors and Remove all Water Stains
The fact that you use water and soaps in your bathroom daily leads to a buildup of spots and stains on the bathtub, tiles and other parts of your bathroom. To give your shower a deep clean, begin with the removal of shampoos, conditioners, and the likes. Then sprinkle your all-purpose cleaning agent on all surfaces and give it time to sit. Wipe down every item you remove from your shower using a clean dry towel.
Once this is done, scrub the shower using microfiber and work your way around u to you are sure all surfaces have been thoroughly cleaned. To get very stubborn stains off your glass shower doors, sprinkle more of the all-purpose cleaner and allow it to sit for a longer period before wiping it clean. Once the shower doors are clean, dry them up by wiping with a dry cloth.
If your shower head is clogged, you can remove it and have it soaked in diluted vinegar before boiling it in water.
4. Cleaning your Bathtub
If your bathtub and shower have some stubborn stains and spots, you can repeat the steps above using the all-purpose cleaner. If that fails to remove the stains, simply add some baking soda and allow the paste to sit for about 15 minutes before you tackle it again using a microfiber.
5. Clean your Tiles and Grouts
To keep the tiles and grouts in your bathtub and shower clean, you have to give them some deep cleaning. Start by removing all items from the bathroom floor before vacuuming. Apply your tile and grout cleaner generously and spread it evenly using a sponge. Give the cleaner about 5-10 minutes to sit before scrubbing the tile using a scrubby sponge. Clean the space in-between tiles with your grout brush before rinsing and drying the tiles and grouts with a dry towel.
6. Clean Up your Bathroom Floor
Your bathroom floor is probably tiled because most modern bathrooms are tiled to help the bathroom floor resist damage from constant wetting. Start your bathroom floor cleaning by vacuuming the hard surface. Vacuuming is always more effective than sweeping.
After vacuuming, mop the floor with a microfiber mop dipped in a well-diluted tile and grout cleaning agent. Make sure you only use cleaning agents formulated for your type of tile. You can tackle any stains and stubborn spots using a grout brush.
